on this state-of-the-art medical complex in southeast Orange County.
The new VA Medical Center will serve and honor approximately
113,000 local veterans with comprehensive modern healthcare.
Overall, the project is 1.2 million SF, valued at $665 million, and
includes construction of more than a dozen buildings on the VA's
65-acre campus located in the Lake Nona area known as the
"medical city." FORTE YOUNG INC. is working on multiple bid
packages under Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC. for buildings that include
a four-story 134-inpatient bed hospital, four-story clinic, 120-bed
lakeside nursing home for community living, 60-bed rehabilitation/
domiciliary center, a dining "canteen" that seats 500 people, and
two seven-story parking garages. The VA will be co-located with
the University of Central Florida ('UCF') College of Medicine, the
Burnham Institute, the University of Florida ('UF') Academic and
Research Center and Nemour's Children's Hospital.
